Supporting our member's commitment to the environment
Green electricity is generated from renewable resources, they have low or zero CO2 impacts and are generally exempt from the Climate Change Levy. They include:
- Hydro
- CHP
- Wind (on and off-shore)
- Energy from waste
- Biomass
Leading the way forward
Laser was one of the first market entrants. It is now one of the largest purchasers in the UK and has been able to procure economic green supplies despite market shortages.
Green electricity purchases by Laser currently reduce members' CO2 emissions by around 140,000 tonnes per annum.
